We Need Your Help Organizing This Grassroots Activist Action

Now is your chance to be a part of the growing movement to change things, being carried out by normal American citizens like yourself. People who are frustrated with the way they are being exploited by this administration and the ultra-rich corporations who have gained such influence over politicians from both parties. This is not a call only for democrats and liberals, this is a call for all Americans. Let's face it, there is not a person in this country who isn't affected by the rising cost of gasoline. The impact of skyrocketing costs will be felt far beyond the pump; reflected in the price of our food, clothes and even entertainment. Activism

Isn't It Time That We Did Something About It?

We have all heard about the price gouging being by the oil empires. We have heard about their record profit levels, even as our economy remains turbulent and our future stability uncertain. We have become very aware of where our many of our elected leaders' interests may truly lay:

Asked in a recent interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" whether U.S. oil companies
should forfeit profits during this crisis, President Bush insisted that instead
they should make cash donations to hurricane relief efforts.
---
"Howard Dean [DNC chair] seized on that comment. [W]hile Bush was 'asking ordinary Americans to do more, he ought to show some real leadership, and call on his friends in Big Oil to join in the sacrifice and stop gouging American families at the gas pump'." - From Reuters

Worried? Angry? It's Time For Grassroots Activism!

We often see activist plans to conduct national boycotts only on certain days. These “Don’t Buy Days” are ineffective, because they don’t significantly impact the oil companies’ bottom lines. But, there is a realistic way for us to work together to force these behemoth companies’ into quick action. We need to organize and use our collective influence to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace, not sellers. We need to organize into a grassroots activist movement to force their hand into treating us fairly.

Here's how we can work together to lower the cost of gas:

1) For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANYTHING from the two biggest companies (which are now, in fact, owned by the same corporation): EXXON and MOBIL. If they are losing significant amounts of business, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the rest of the companies will have to follow suit. Don't wait for our government, let's work together and do it ourselves!

2) We need you to SPREAD THE WORD. Let's face it, effective activism takes getting people involved- and lots of them. To have any impact whatsoever, this grassroots activist strategy has to be picked up and acted on by literally millions of forward-thinking Americans. We truly need your help! Please send this website to everyone in your address book, letting them know about our plan. If every single person that reads this tells 10 more people, and they all 10 more people... it will only take 6 generations to get 1 Million people acting on our strategy! Now that's a number that the oil companies simply can't ignore!

3)
Finally, you can help us to fund this grassroots effort by learning more about our sponsors. We have already invested time and money to organize this movement to lower gas prices, and we won't stop until oil companies stop gouging Americans for their hard-earned money. We appreciate your support.

Help get the word out about this
grassroots activist strategy!
